The West Should Respect Market Economy Principles and Fair Competition, CCPIT Said

“The United States and the European Union, among others, have introduced a series of trade and economic restrictions related to China,” said Zhang Shaogang, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade(CCPIT), at a press conference regarding the preparations for the second China International Supply Chain Expo.

CCPIT believes that those measures are unilateral actions that clearly violate WTO rules and have adversely affected global industrial and supply chain cooperation. Representing the Chinese business community, CCPIT and the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) firmly oppose these measures and call on the U.S. and European sides to respect market economy principles and fair competition. They urge resolving disputes through consultation and dialogue to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, thus promoting world economic development.

Recently, CCPIT conducted research among more than 400 key foreign-invested enterprises. Among them, 64.9% and 66.6% of the respondents believe that the policies related to foreign investment introduced by central and local governments have had a positive supporting effect, generally feeling the determination of the Chinese government to expand high-level opening up.

The proportion of overseas exhibitors atthe second China International Supply Chain Expohas reached 32%, surpassing last year's figure, with American companies leading in number, and the quantity of European and Japanese enterprises also significantly exceeding that of the first Expo.(By Zhang Qianyu/China Youth Daily)
