榆木疙瘩，说的就是榆树，像极了受苦人，老成守旧，老脑筋不拐弯;家榆树皮粗糙灰白，叶片细小，仅是山榆之半甚或三分之一，颜色浅绿，经人修剪，杆正冠圆，能与家槐媲美，高大挺拔，既美化院落，也能成材，可堪大用。
