英语八级，讲的是英语专业八级，普通的大学生英语等级最高是英语六级，英语专业的才有英语专业四级、专业六级、专业八级，两者考察的方向和侧重点不一样，普通四六级偏重运用能力，日常化英语，专业四级八级偏重读写能力，八级更偏重语言文化和历史。
