宝宝在语言这一领域，比我们想象的还要聪明，大约在4个月左右，宝宝就能听懂我们说的话了。4月龄能听懂话里的语调高低和音量大小，会根据语调与音量感受说话人的情绪。5~6月龄能听懂自己的称呼，当你叫宝宝或喊他名字的时候，他会看向你或停下手中的事。对说话人的表情比较敏感。
