否极泰来“否”（pǐ），翻译为不是，否定。否定不一定是坏事。“泰”：翻译为好；顺利。“否极泰来” 是指坏到极点，好的就来了。指事物发展到极点，就会向对立面转化。否卦，是《易经》第十二卦，上卦为乾为天；下卦为坤为地。
按照《易经》的说法，七月节名处暑 ，盖暑者，天地水火相蒸之气也。暑自此止，则天地之气上下各分矣。在周易六十四卦里，“否”是第十二卦，而“泰”则是十一卦，这就是说，泰卦在否卦之前，从泰到否，仅一步之遥，而从否到泰，则要历经其余六十二卦，完成一个轮回。
So Being and Not-being transform into each other，difficult and easy form each other，long and short manifest each other，high and low enrich each other，sound and voice harmonize with each other，before and after follow each other，all of which is eternal.
