Amei qituo is a traditional dance popular among the Yi ethnic group in Qianxinan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou. Historically, it was performed by the Yi people in Qinglong during girls' weddings. Due to its characteristic of stepping on the ground to the beat, it is known as the “Tap Dance of the East”. In 2014, amei qituo was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
